August 24, 2009 — Bob Cunningham, shown pictured on the left, and Bob Gleason on the right, both members and road captains of Oswego County ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) lead a group of over 50 motorcyclists at the Oswego Salvation Army’s Bikes & BBQ event held recently at the Army’s new building at 73 West 2nd Street in Oswego. The participating bikers took a 90-minute benefit ride before returning to the Salvation Army complex for a BBQ dinner provided by Raging River BBQ in Oswego, an ice cream dessert provided by Stewarts in Oswego, and music by John Bletch and Friends. In addition, a toy auction with a variety of themed baskets filled with new toys helped the Army’s “I Believe” Team raise over $3,000 at the event for the restoration campaign that is presently underway.
